Covid thoughts

It is humbling how everyone is the same: fear, loved ones, and tactics, and justifying were ok. We’ll make it. Too much is out of our control. Lots of friends feel the same. Just do fferent blankets that we cling to.

A plan to help us, testing, cleaning up, helping our neighbors with food, yard work, mail or a watchful eye. Unfortunately we get tied to how we vote and our egos, our worth. Live and let live. Be big. Let it go, help. Do our politics matter when we need food, medicine, or respect? No.

Be well.

On our farm, a farm covered in rabbits, Easter Eve is peaceful.

On our farm, a farm covered in rabbits, Easter Eve is peaceful.

The campfire talks back and cackles with vapoured red coals. Boys cook sausage too much before getting it right. Red and black, gentle cattle silently saunter into an audience circle, surprising young men at the fire.

Night birds - some call.

Dogs chase nothing.

Rabbits - vanished, vanished.

Chickens, tiny chicks & ducklings are settled in their coop.

Eggs, none, not even one.

Easter morning, dripping in rain, the green is greener and rabbits are home again, on narrow paths along cover and clover, from wherever, they’ve been.

Happy Easter

Shelter While You Work, da da da -da -dah da -daaayyy

Always loved the idea of working from home, computers, looking out windows while you negotiate… It used to be that way. Now I just miss people, having interruptions, being able to put out fires. Don’t get me wrong, I love saving 120 miles a day and two hours in the truck, great for the pocket book, not enough living.

And now, Mississippi says it it required instead of recommended. The few who don’t social distance probably won’t be motivated by threats. The few I see are hard working people, who don’t read signs, don’t understand that how the way they work and interact Is not what the Governors are trying to say.

The mechanic who walks into the auto parts store, across the X on the floor to reach past the sign to hand a starter to the clerk, is not a bad person… He needs a better teacher, better reminders, to see and believe what the rest of us are doing. He needs to be entertained, not overwhelmed with news and official statements and demanding customers who just need their car repaired, today!

We need jingles and hollywood and heroes. Slogans and Flo’s ads from Progressive, please.

Please, there are days I am bored to tears, obsess over email, try not to argue, avoid the news and binge the news on Apple, Bloomburg, FT.com, and CNN.

Great time to catch up on online training and thawing some dinner!
