Daily challenges establishing our natural ranch.

Open to a cause

Grant mentioned, he would be open to the monastery if a really good elkhound could help their operations.

They use our livestock guardians to live with and protect sheep. An elkhound does get attached, but they are less calm and imposing, and more direct. They purge smaller pests, remove birds, and warn off interlopers. They are good with those who belong and persistently harass those that don’t. The size fits being sturdy and quick to avoid harm.

Their fur stands on end

How else can I describe this? The elkhound is like a air passenger size Akita? The hair is a soft, double coat that stand on end… a environmentally responsible fur coat.

The puppies are a friendly mass of individual personalities. One wants a lap, another explores the boundaries, several rolling in pairs learning battle, and one howling a high howl, deep in the brush past the sand ditch.

It took a wile to find him, driving the side-by-side, turning it off and listening. She was in the woods, deep brush, and trudging her way out to me.

Live a little dream with me

Did you know you can train a dog to walk with you (migrating) instead of constantly stopping to sniff or use the rest room. It is instinctual to walk with purpose to see and remember a perimeter, proximity or find a better place for a while.

I suggest Cesar Milan’s first book to make training or successfully living with your best friend.

You naturally fit each other’s lifestyle.
